This microswitch, made by Bosch in Germany, is a boiler housing part. It is made of plastic and detects mechanical position or movement by opening or closing an electrical circuit. It fits the following Bosch and Junkers gas water heaters: Bosch Therm 4000 O GWH10-2COB, GWH13-2COB, GWH15-2COB, WR10-2B, WR10-2P, WR13-2, WR15-2B, Junkers MiniMaxx WR10 B, and WR10-2 B.

When selecting a replacement microswitch, match the contact configuration (normally open, normally closed, or changeover), the electrical rating, and the actuator type (roller lever, plunger, whisker). The mounting dimensions, operating force, and housing shape must also fit the original pocket. Verify that the actuator reaches the moving part and that the electrical connections match the existing wiring. A mismatch in travel or actuator type can prevent the switch from operating at the correct point.

A failed microswitch may fail to open or close its contact at the required position. The control then does not receive the expected signal, so the operating sequence may be interrupted or a lockout initiated. The appliance may fail to start or shut down during operation. A stuck switch can also bypass a safety interlock.
