Description

The Honeywell Venturi manifold 45900444B-001B is a gas/air mixing unit designed for premix burners, enabling modulation down to 20% of maximum load with a constant gas/air ratio. It operates in combination with a fan and a Honeywell 1:1 regulating gas valve, where modulation is achieved by varying fan speed. The venturi creates a negative pressure that draws gas through the valve outlet, and the manifold can be mounted in up to eight positions on a specially adapted DC fan using two M5 thread-forming screws. It includes a gasket for sealing and can be trimmed via a throttle screw to adjust the gas/air ratio. The gas valve can be attached directly in horizontal or vertical orientation, with options for side or end outlets using specified screws and seals.

Choosing and fitting

Parts of this type are selected by verifying compatibility with the specific burner model and the fan and gas valve combination. The manifold must match the mounting pattern and outlet configuration (side or end) of the existing assembly. Before ordering, measure the dimensions and compare the screw hole positions and thread sizes (M4 or M5) to ensure a proper fit. Installation involves securing the manifold with the supplied screws and gaskets, and adjusting the throttle screw to achieve the correct gas/air ratio.

Signs of failure

Common failure modes include gasket deterioration leading to gas or air leaks, which can cause unstable flame or incomplete combustion. The throttle screw may become loose or corroded, affecting the gas/air ratio and causing burner modulation issues. Check for visible damage, wear on sealing surfaces, and verify that the manifold is securely mounted and free of debris.
