This microprocessor-based controller is designed for gas, oil, and combination burners, supporting both single-stage and two-stage operation. It operates on a 24 V supply and accepts ionisation, UV, or photocell flame detectors. The device runs in intermittent mode, reacts to flame loss in under 1 second, and incorporates a hardware lockout with manual reset. Choosing and fitting

Burner control boxes are selected by matching the supply voltage, flame detection method, and timing parameters to the burner. They typically mount on a dedicated base, such as a microflat-type socket, and can be installed in any orientation. Before ordering, confirm that the operating voltage and timing settings are compatible with the burner.

Signs of failure

When such a controller malfunctions, the burner usually goes into lockout and stops; a manual reset is required to restart. Typical causes include ignition failure, flame loss, or a dirty flame sensor. Check the internal and external fuses, wiring connections, and the flame sensor's condition. Addressing the root cause is necessary before pressing the reset button.
