This control box is a Brahma CE31 unit for atmospheric gas burners with a fan. It operates in an intermittent (cyclic) mode and supports single-stage and two-stage burners. The flame is detected by an ionisation electrode, and on flame loss the gas supply is interrupted in under 1 second. The safety time is 10 s, the waiting time is 30 s. Lockout is volatile; it is reset only by disconnecting and restoring the power supply. Built-in protection includes a varistor, short-circuit protection and automatic self-diagnosis at every switch-on; rated at 250,000 cycles under maximum load.

When replacing a burner control box of this kind, the timing parameters (safety time and waiting time) must exactly match the burner programme. The flame detection method must also be identical (ionisation electrode), and the unit must be rated for the same operating mode (intermittent) and burner stages (single-stage or two-stage). Mount the box in a dry, ventilated electrical enclosure and make all wiring with the power supply disconnected. Check the connection diagram and timing values on the unit housing before ordering.
