Honeywell Control box 02602

The Honeywell Control box 02602 (type designation TFI812.2) is a gas burner control box for 2-stage atmospheric gas burners. It has a safety time of 10 seconds and a pre-ignition time of 10 seconds. Flame detection can be performed by an ionisation probe or an infra-red flicker detector. The control box features manual reset lockout. It is not interchangeable across series.

Replacement control boxes of this type are selected by exact series and type designation, supply voltage, pre-purge and safety times, flame detection method (ionisation, UV or IR), and the physical base or plug pattern. These parameters are not interchangeable across series, even within the same brand. Always verify that the wiring diagram of the new control matches the existing burner circuit and that the flame detector type is compatible. Some controls require a specific flame sensor or a separate amplifier.

During startup, the control box performs pre-purge, ignition trial, fuel admission and flame proving. If no flame is detected within the safety time, it locks out and must be reset manually.
