The Kromschroder Flame sensor 84315203 is a UV sensor designed for flame monitoring in gas burners. It operates with Elster Kromschroder automatic burner control units (IFS, IFD, PFS, PFD), flame detectors (IFW, PFF), or burner control units (BCU, PFU). The sensor features a quartz glass heat guard lens, an aluminum housing with integrated heat guard, and an M20 cable gland for cooling air connection. It has a UV tube type P578 with a spectral range of 190–270 nm and a service life of approximately 10,000 operating hours. The sensor is rated IP65, weighs 360 g, and operates in ambient temperatures from -40 to 80 °C.

When selecting a replacement flame sensor of this type, ensure compatibility with the burner control system and that the mounting thread (RP 1/2 internal thread) matches the viewing tube. The distance between the UV sensor and the flame should be within 300–400 mm, and the sensor must be aligned to view the first third of the flame.
