Description
This solenoid valve is a single-solenoid model with a 25 mm nominal diameter and an Rp 1 connection thread. It operates on a 230 V AC/DC coil and has a 25 mm inlet/outlet diameter. Designed for the VR425 series, it admits or interrupts gas flow to a burner. When power is removed, the valve closes rapidly to stop gas flow, providing a safety function.
Further details
| Application | gas supply control, gas boilers, burners, heat engineering installations |
|---|---|
| Burner control activation | Receives open signal from burner control after gas pressure switch confirmation |
| Coil replaceability | replaceable without removing valve from line |
| Coil replaceability | Coil is often replaceable without removing valve from line |
| Robust design | Robust construction with resistance to temperature and operational loads |
Choosing and fitting
Valves of this type are selected primarily by connection size (DN25, equivalent to Rp 1) and by coil voltage, which may be 230 V or 24 V AC/DC depending on the burner control design. The VR425 series includes single-solenoid variants, as well as double-solenoid, slow-opening, servo-regulated, or multiblock versions with integrated filter and regulator. When installing a replacement, match the valve body orientation and flow direction to the original, and check whether the coil can be reused or must be ordered separately; coils are often replaceable without removing the valve from the line.
Signs of failure
Common failure modes include coil burnout from prolonged overvoltage, seat leakage from debris, drifting outlet pressure from a worn servo regulator, and seizure of the solenoid plunger if the gas is contaminated. Such faults can cause the valve to fail to open or close, interrupting or improperly controlling gas flow, which may lead to burner malfunction or safety shutdown.
