Description

The Brahma EGN30*L*GFD gas solenoid valve (SKU 13946000) is a normally closed valve designed for gas control in burners and boilers. It operates on a 230 V supply with a power consumption of 25 W. The valve has a maximum overpressure of 500 mbar and an opening and closing time of 1 second. It features an internal rectification circuit for silent operation and a metal mesh filter to trap particles larger than 1 mm. The valve is rated IP54 for dust and moisture protection and can be installed in both vertical and horizontal pipelines. It is certified to class A standards.

Choosing and fitting

When selecting a replacement gas solenoid valve of this type, ensure the supply voltage, power consumption, and maximum overpressure ratings match the system requirements. The valve's inlet pressure must not exceed the specified maximum. Check the electrical connection type and ensure the valve's opening and closing times are compatible with the burner control. The valve can be mounted in vertical or horizontal pipelines, but the installation position must allow proper flow direction and clearance for the coil. Verify the thread size and connection type against the existing piping before ordering.

Signs of failure

Common failures of gas solenoid valves include coil burnout, which results in the valve failing to open or close, leading to no gas flow or continuous gas flow. A stuck valve can cause the burner to not ignite or to shut down unexpectedly. Dirt or debris may clog the valve seat, preventing proper sealing and causing gas leakage. Check the coil resistance and inspect the valve for physical damage or contamination. If the valve operates but makes unusual noises, it may indicate a faulty rectifier or worn internal components.
