Description

The Honeywell VR4615VB1030U is a compact automatic gas valve designed to control gas flow in domestic heating systems, water heaters, and boilers. It operates with two electrical actuators: one for a safety valve (class A or B per EN 161) and one for the main valve (class B, C, or J per EN 161). The valve supports various gas types, including natural gas H (G20), natural gas L (G25), liquefied gas (G30), and petroleum gases (G110, G120). It includes an internal fine mesh filter on the inlet side and pressure measuring fittings with a 9 mm outer diameter on both input and output sides. The valve can be mounted within a 90° angle from the vertical position of the actuator and has two threaded mounting holes at its base.

Choosing and fitting

Parts of this type are selected by matching the gas valve's connection size, voltage (mains or low-voltage), and throughput to the system's requirements. The valve must be compatible with the gas type used and the ignition system (DSI, HSI, or IP). Mounting options include vertical or angled positions within 90° from the actuator's vertical orientation. Before ordering, verify the valve's inlet and outlet connections, pressure rating, and the actuator's electrical connector type (e.g., DIN or AMP).

Signs of failure

Common failure modes for gas valves of this kind include sticking or leaking due to debris or wear, leading to unstable outlet pressure or failure to close. Symptoms may include burner ignition failure, fluctuating flame, or gas odor. Check the inlet filter for blockage, test the electrical actuators for proper operation, and verify the outlet pressure against the nominal setting.
