Description
The Honeywell VR4625AA1043U is a compact automatic gas valve designed for gas flow control in residential heating systems, boilers, and water heaters. It features two electric actuators: one for a safety valve (class A or B per EN 161) and one for the main valve (class B, C, or J per EN 161). The valve supports various ignition methods (DSI, HSI, or IP) and is compatible with gases including natural gas H (G20), natural gas L (G25), liquefied gas LP (G30), and manufactured gases (G110, G120). It includes an internal fine-mesh inlet filter, pressure measuring fittings (9 mm outer diameter) on inlet and outlet, and two threaded mounting holes. The valve can be mounted within a 90° angle from vertical and operates with a nominal inlet pressure of 25 mbar under standard conditions (20 °C, 1013 mbar).
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a gas valve of this type, ensure the valve's safety and main valve classes (e.g., A, B, C, J) match the burner's requirements. Verify the gas type compatibility (e.g., natural gas, LPG) and the electrical supply (mains or low voltage). Check the inlet and outlet connection sizes and pressure ratings against the system. The valve can be mounted in any orientation within 90° from vertical; ensure adequate clearance for the actuators and pressure taps. Confirm the mounting hole spacing and thread size for secure installation.
Signs of failure
Common failures in gas valves of this kind include sticking or leaking valves due to debris or wear, leading to inconsistent burner pressure or failure to shut off. Electrical actuator faults may cause the valve to remain open or closed, resulting in no flame or uncontrolled gas flow. Symptoms include burner ignition failure, fluctuating flame, or gas odor. Check the inlet filter for blockage, verify electrical continuity of the actuators, and test output pressure against specifications.
