Cofi Ignition transformer TRG1035/4

This ignition transformer steps up the supply voltage to create a spark for automatic burners. It operates from 220–230 V, 50 Hz and delivers 10 kV at 35 mA, with a duty cycle of 25% ED within 4 minutes and two poles. The body measures 150 x 87 x 80 mm and weighs 2.43 kg net. The housing is made of durable heat-resistant material, windings are insulated with epoxy resin, and ingress protection is IP00. It is intended for gas and liquid fuel burners and compatible with several major burner brands. This unit is made in Italy and certified to CEI EN 61558-2-3.

Parts of this type are selected by secondary voltage and current, primary voltage, duty cycle, and physical mounting and terminal arrangement. The high-voltage cable connector pattern must match the transformer output and the electrode terminal. Before ordering, check the primary voltage and duty cycle of the burner's control sequence, and measure the mounting dimensions and terminal spacing. When installing, inspect the silicone-insulated ignition cable for hardening or cracks, and verify the electrode gap is within specification.

No spark at the electrode and a subsequent burner lockout are the usual symptoms of a failed ignition transformer. However, the same symptoms can be caused by a hardened or cracked silicone ignition cable that leaks the spark to earth, or by an incorrect electrode gap. Therefore, inspect the cable and electrode gap before condemning the transformer.
