Cofi Ignition transformer TRG1035P

The Cofi TRG1035P is an ignition transformer designed for gas and diesel burners, operating at 230 V and 50 Hz. It provides an output current of 2–2.2 A to generate a high-voltage spark for fuel ignition. The transformer measures 110x90x70 mm and features a compact housing for easy installation. It is manufactured in Italy and operates only during the ignition phase.

When selecting a replacement ignition transformer of this type, verify the primary voltage (commonly 230 V, but also 110 V or 24 V), secondary voltage and current, duty cycle, mounting configuration, terminal type, and the high-voltage cable connector pattern. Measure the physical dimensions and mounting hole spacing to ensure compatibility with the burner. The ignition cable must be silicone-insulated to withstand high voltage and heat.

Common failures include cracked or hardened ignition cables that leak spark to ground, causing no-spark conditions and nuisance lockouts. A faulty transformer may produce weak or no spark, leading to ignition failure. Check the cable and electrode insulator before condemning the transformer.
