Cofi Ignition transformer TRK1-20CVD

The Cofi TRK1-20CVD is an ignition transformer used in burners and industrial heating equipment. It steps up the mains supply voltage to generate a spark across the ignition electrode gap. The transformer is energized only during the ignition phase, controlled by the burner control (flame safeguard), and de-energized once the flame is proven. It connects between the burner control output and the ignition electrode via a high-voltage, silicone-insulated cable. This model is compatible with Master 4111.885 B35CED, B70CED, B100CED, B150CED, and B300CED air heaters.

When selecting a replacement ignition transformer of this type, verify the primary voltage (commonly 230 V, but 110 V and 24 V versions exist), secondary voltage and current, duty cycle (typically intermittent), and mechanical mounting and terminal layout. Ensure the high-voltage cable connector pattern matches the existing wiring. Always inspect the ignition cable and electrode leads for deterioration before fitting a new transformer.

A common failure is not the transformer itself but a deteriorated ignition cable; silicone insulation hardens and cracks under heat, causing the spark to leak to earth and mimic a transformer fault.
