For physical fit, compare mounting hole pattern, overall dimensions, terminal type, and connector pattern with the original. Ignition cables are silicone-insulated for high voltage and heat.

A failing ignition transformer may be suspected when the burner does not ignite or sparks weakly. Before replacing it, inspect the ignition cable and electrode: a hardened or cracked cable can leak the spark to earth, mimicking a transformer with low output. A contaminated or eroded electrode can prevent spark formation even with a healthy transformer. Check those elements first to avoid unnecessary part replacement.
