High-voltage ignition transformer for gas burners in industrial and domestic heating systems. When selecting a replacement of this type, match the primary voltage to the supply (230 V is standard, but 110 V and 24 V also exist) and verify that the secondary output is adequate for the electrode gap. The duty cycle and physical interface—mounting pattern, terminal type, and cable connector shape—must be compatible with the existing installation. Inspect the ignition cable before installation; it should be silicone-insulated and free of hardening or cracks to prevent spark leakage to earth.

A hardened or cracked ignition cable can leak the spark to earth, causing a false fault indication or ignition failure. The transformer may be wrongly suspected in such cases, so always check the cable condition before assuming the transformer is defective. Since the transformer is only energised during the ignition phase, problems typically appear as no or weak spark at burner start-up.
