Description
This is a straight silicone insulator (boot) for ignition and ionization electrodes, manufactured by Cofi in Italy. It has a length of 41 mm and accommodates wire diameters of 4.7–5.2 mm, with an electrode diameter range of 4.7–7 mm. The body is made of high-temperature silicone, resistant to temperatures up to +200°C and above. It is compatible with Cofi boots 11PC112013 and 11PC112010, and serves as an OEM equivalent for those parts. The insulator provides electrical insulation and protection for the high-voltage wire connection to the electrode.
Further details
| Aging resistance | resistant to oils, chemicals and aging |
|---|---|
| Application examples | industrial and domestic gas burners (cib unigas, cofi, riello, ecoflam and similar) boiler rooms, drying chambers, bakery and process equipment regular maintenance and emergency repair |
| Breakdown protection | designed for reliable electrical insulation and protection of the high-voltage cable from breakdown, overheating, moisture and aggressive furnace environment |
| Chemical resistance | resistant to oils, chemicals and aging |
| Damage consequence | a damaged insulator can cause spark leakage or loss of flame signal, leading to ignition failure or safety lockout |
| Electrical insulation | designed for reliable electrical insulation and protection of the high-voltage cable from breakdown, overheating, moisture and aggressive furnace environment |
| Electrode rod insulation | electrically insulate the electrode rod from the burner head or mounting flange while providing mechanical support and maintaining the correct gap relative to the burner earth |
| Exposure conditions | exposed to high temperatures and combustion residues |
| Function description | prevents current leakage, short circuits and premature failure of the ignition transformer and electrodes |
| Furnace environment resistance | designed for reliable electrical insulation and protection of the high-voltage cable from breakdown, overheating, moisture and aggressive furnace environment |
| Gap maintenance | maintaining the correct gap relative to the burner earth |
| Installation method | quickly slides onto the wire, provides sealing and protection of the connection with the ignition electrode |
| Length extended | extended version for more reliable insulation of the connection area |
| Mechanical support | providing mechanical support and maintaining the correct gap relative to the burner earth |
| Moisture protection | designed for reliable electrical insulation and protection of the high-voltage cable from breakdown, overheating, moisture and aggressive furnace environment |
| Oil resistance | resistant to oils, chemicals and aging |
| Overheating protection | designed for reliable electrical insulation and protection of the high-voltage cable from breakdown, overheating, moisture and aggressive furnace environment |
| Protection | reliable protection for the high-voltage wire |
| Replacement check | check for cracks, glazing, or carbon tracking |
| Sealing | provides sealing and protection of the connection with the ignition electrode |
| Selection criteria | selection of such insulators is based on the inner diameter that matches the electrode rod, the outer diameter that fits the burner mounting bore, and the overall length and shape required by the burner series |
Choosing and fitting
When selecting an insulator of this type, verify the inner diameter matches the electrode rod or wire diameter, and the outer diameter fits the burner mounting bore. Measure the overall length and shape to ensure it matches the original part. Check for compatibility with the specific electrode assembly and burner model. Installation involves sliding the insulator onto the wire and ensuring a secure seal over the connection.
Signs of failure
Insulators of this kind can fail due to cracking, glazing, or carbon tracking from high temperatures and combustion residues. A damaged insulator may cause spark leakage or loss of flame signal, leading to ignition failure or safety lockout. Inspect the insulator for visible damage and replace if any defects are found.
