Description
Kromschroder overpressure spring 03089067 is an original replacement spring for JSAV safety shut-off valves, models JSAV 50, JSAV 80, and JSAV 100. It sets the upper pressure trip threshold between 300 and 550 mbar. The spring is made of spring steel and has an orange-green color coding. It operates in ambient temperatures from -15 °C to 60 °C. This spring is used to cut off gas supply in case of emergency pressure rise above 550 mbar, protecting the burner and fittings from damage.
Further details
| Advantages | high emergency threshold 550 mbar; easy identification by color; original quality; certified safety |
|---|---|
| Application | natural gas, liquefied gas (propane-butane), biogas, hydrogen |
| Color coding notes | quick visual reference for pressure band |
| Compatibility Series | JSAV 50, JSAV 80, JSAV 100 |
| Installation notes | ensure spring seats correctly in regulator cap and adjustment screw not over-tightened |
| Replacement consideration | incorrect spring preload can cause unstable pressure or failure to reach set point |
| Safety Standard | complies with european gas safety standards |
| Selection criteria | match pressure range to required burner gas pressure and confirm valve size |
| Spring function | spring force determines regulated pressure; lighter spring gives lower setting, stiffer spring higher |
Choosing and fitting
Parts of this type are selected by matching the valve model and nominal diameter (e.g., DN50, DN80, DN100) and the required pressure trip range. The spring must be installed in the regulator cap, ensuring it seats correctly. The adjustment screw, if present, should not be over-tightened to avoid unstable pressure or failure to reach the set point. Color coding helps identify the correct pressure band.
Signs of failure
Over time, springs of this kind may lose elasticity or deform, leading to incorrect trip thresholds or failure to trip. Symptoms include the valve not shutting off at the expected pressure or shutting off too early. Check the spring for signs of corrosion, deformation, or breakage, and verify the trip pressure with a manometer.
