Description
This Honeywell premix pilot burner is designed for gas-fired boilers or burners. It sustains a small permanent or intermittent flame that ignites the main burner and provides a flame-proving signal. It operates on natural gas or liquefied gas, with primary air ventilation and a protective filter for air cleaning. The burner accepts 4–6 mm pipes, and the nut tightening torque is 12 nm. Ignition is by spark electrode, and flame sensing is via an electrode measuring flame current. It can be mounted horizontally or at an angle up to 75°, and is available in various lengths.

Choosing and fitting
For this type of pilot burner, selection must match the original in electrode length and bend, insulator diameter, spark gap, mounting flange geometry, and the specific burner series. The replacement must be physically compatible with the existing burner and gas train. Before ordering, verify these dimensions and the electrode configuration against the old unit. Mounting can be horizontal or angled up to 75°, and follow the manufacturer's torque specification.
Signs of failure
Common failure modes for this type include erosion of the electrode tip, cracking of the ceramic insulator, sooting from incomplete combustion, and a drifting spark gap that lengthens ignition times. Check for these when ignition is slow or erratic.
