Description
Kromschroder pilot burner model ZKIH150/100R (SKU 84199410). It carries a permanent or intermittent pilot flame used to light the main burner and to sustain the flame signal for the burner control. The protective tube length is 150 mm and the flame tube length is 100 mm. The housing is splash-proof and the insulator is ceramic. Both the ignition electrode and the ionization electrode are consumable.

Choosing and fitting
Pilot burners of this type are selected by electrode length and bend, insulator diameter, electrode gap, mounting flange geometry, and the burner series for which the assembly was designed. They are installed in the burner head through a dedicated flange or bracket and work with the ignition transformer and burner control. Before ordering, compare these dimensions with the existing pilot burner. After installation, check the electrode gap against the manufacturer’s specification, inspect the ceramic insulator for cracks, and confirm that the mounting seal is intact to prevent false air ingress. Also test the burner control to confirm that the flame signal is stable within the safety time.
Signs of failure
Pilot burners of this type fail through eroded electrode tips, cracked ceramic insulators, soot deposits on the electrodes, and a drifting spark gap that lengthens ignition time. A blocked gas orifice or misaligned pilot can prevent ignition or cause loss of flame signal. When ignition is delayed or the flame signal drops, check the electrode gap, the insulator condition, and the pilot gas supply.
