Description
This pilot burner is used for ignition and flame monitoring on main gas burners and boilers. It uses spark ignition and an ionization electrode for flame sensing. The flame tube is 100 mm long, the protective tube is 600 mm long, and the connection is an internal Rp thread. It operates with forced air supply and can run on natural gas, LPG, or town gas. The flame mode may be permanent or intermittent.

Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement pilot burner of this kind, match the flame output, tube lengths, and mounting connection (threaded or flanged) to the original. Confirm compatibility with the fuel gas type and supply pressure, and verify that the gas orifice is correctly sized. Before installation, inspect the ignition and sensing electrodes for wear or contamination, check the ceramic insulation for cracks, and verify the seal integrity. Position the flame tip properly relative to the main burner head.
Signs of failure
A failing pilot burner can cause delayed ignition, flame failure, or safety lockout. Common issues include eroded or dirty electrodes, incorrect electrode gap, cracked ceramic insulation, or a damaged seal. Loss of flame signal is often traced to the ionization electrode. Regularly check these components and keep the gas supply clean.
