Description

The Honeywell C6097A4010 is a gas pressure switch from the C6097A series, designed for monitoring ultra-low pressure of gases such as natural gas, LPG (gaseous phase), air, flue gases, or biogas in burner and boiler control systems. It has a pressure setting range of 0.4–6 mbar and a switching differential of 0.2–0.3 mbar. The switch features an SPDT contact type with a rating of 0.05–5 A at 24–250 V AC, and is protected to IP65. It connects via an Rp 1/4" (ISO 7-1) thread and an M16 x 1.5 cable entry, with a maximum working pressure of 100 mbar (10 kPa). The device operates in ambient temperatures from -20 °C to 80 °C and is manufactured in Germany.

Switching functionswitches on falling pressure (NO contact opens when pressure drops)

Choosing and fitting

When selecting a replacement gas pressure switch of this type, ensure the pressure setting range, switching differential, connection thread size, and electrical contact rating match the original. The switch must be compatible with the medium temperature and ambient conditions of the installation. Mounting orientation and impulse line routing should prevent condensation from entering the switch housing. Verify that the electrical connection (e.g., cable entry size) and protection class meet the system requirements.

Signs of failure

Typical failures of gas pressure switches include a torn diaphragm, which can cause intermittent or constant lockouts, and a blocked impulse tube that prevents accurate pressure sensing. Setpoint drift due to ageing may also occur. When a burner fails to start, shows a low air/gas pressure error, or shuts down unexpectedly, check the pressure switch for proper operation and correct adjustment.
