Description
The Kromschroder DG10B-6 is a mechanical diaphragm pressure switch designed to monitor gas or air pressure, responding to both rising and falling pressure. It has an adjustable pressure range of 1–10 mbar and features a glass fibre reinforced PBT plastic housing with a lower housing section made of AlSi 12. The sensing element is an NBR diaphragm, and the switch is silicone-free with low gas release. Electrical connection is via a 4-pin plug with socket and screw terminals, and the line entrance thread is M16 x 1.5. It is safety class 1 and suitable for media such as natural gas, town gas, LPG (gaseous), flue gas, biogas (max. 0.1% by vol. H2S), and air.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement pressure switch of this type, verify the pressure range, electrical connection (e.g., plug type and terminal configuration), and process connection thread size. Ensure the switch is suitable for the specific gas or air medium and that the ambient and medium temperature ranges match the application. Signs of failure
Common failures of diaphragm pressure switches include diaphragm rupture or leakage, leading to loss of pressure sensing or false triggering. Electrical contact failure can cause intermittent or no switching, resulting in burner lockout or improper pressure monitoring. Symptoms may include the burner failing to start, unexpected shutdowns, or the system not responding to pressure changes. Check for physical damage, contamination, or corrosion on the diaphragm and contacts, and verify the switch operation against a known pressure source.
