Description

The Danfoss BFP11 R3 oil pump is a gear pump designed for domestic burners with a flow rate up to 60 l/h. It operates within a viscosity range of 1.8-12.0 cst (mm2/s) and a pressure range of 7000-15000 mbar. The pump features a single pressure level, a built-in pressure regulator, a solenoid valve, and a ring filter. It has a shaft rotation speed of 2400-3450 min, a maximum starting torque of 0.1 nm, and a protection class of IP40. The pump is suitable for fuel temperatures from 0 to 70 °C and ambient/transport temperatures from -20 to 70 °C.

Choosing and fitting

When selecting a replacement oil pump of this type, ensure the shaft type (EN225) and rotation speed match the burner's requirements. Verify the pressure range and flow rate compatibility with the burner's specifications. The pump's inlet pressure must not exceed 2000 mbar, and the maximum pressure in the suction/return line is 2 bar. Check the viscosity range of the fuel to ensure it falls within 1.8-12.0 cst. Mounting dimensions and shaft coupling must align with the existing burner configuration.

Signs of failure

Common failures of this pump type include loss of pressure due to worn gears or a stuck pressure regulator, leading to burner pulsation or failure to ignite. A clogged ring filter can cause fuel starvation, resulting in the burner shutting down. Solenoid valve malfunctions may cause fuel leakage or improper fuel cutoff. Check for fuel leaks around the pump shaft and seals, and verify the pressure regulator's operation if the burner exhibits unstable flame.
